Dex and Suzy to Star in Upcoming Fantasy Romantic Drama 'The Men of the Harem'
The Korean drama world is abuzz with the latest news about Dex, formerly of UDT, now known as a reality show star and entertainer, who is rumored to be starring in the new fantasy drama titled “The Men of the Harem”. Not only that, he is said to be acting alongside Suzy, one of South Korea's top actresses!
The news was first reported by a Korean media outlet on June 19th. In response to the report, Dex's agency, KTHD Studio, released an official statement. “No decision has been made. Dex has received an offer for the drama and is currently considering it positively, but no final decision has been made,” the agency stated.
Although not yet confirmed, fans are already excited about the potential collaboration between Dex and Suzy, especially since this would be one of Dex's largest acting projects if he accepts the role.
"The Men of the Harem" is an adaptation of a popular web novel that revolves around the fantasy romantic genre with a fictional kingdom as its backdrop. The story focuses on Queen Latil, the ruler of the kingdom Tarim, who takes an unusual step to maintain her throne: she recruits a group of men as palace guards. In a kingdom usually dominated by men, Latil's decision sparks political intrigue, emotional drama, and of course, a complex love story.
In May, Suzy was already reported to be in discussions for the role of Latil, the main female character. If Suzy and Dex do join the project, viewers can expect a visually stunning and captivating performance—in the midst of a love story set in a kingdom unlike any other drama.
Directed by Lee Eung Bok, a renowned director successful with “Goblin,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and Netflix's “Sweet Home 2 & 3,” and written by Hwang Jin Young, a popular historical drama writer for MBC’s “My Dearest,” “The Men of the Harem” is predicted to be one of the most anticipated dramas of 2026.
